Dancing After Dark

Overnight sessions (typically 11pm/12am to 6am/8am) are the dance community's best-kept secret for affordable studio time. While most of Hong Kong sleeps, you can rehearse in complete privacy at a fraction of the daytime price. Many studios offer flat-rate overnight packages that work out to incredibly low per-hour rates.

Best Flat-Rate Overnight Deals

These studios charge a single flat fee for the entire overnight block — often the best value:

  • CU Studio (Wong Tai Sin) — $150 for 8 hours (12am-8am), which works out to roughly $19/hr. The cheapest overnight rate we have found anywhere in Hong Kong.
  • 24Dance (Kwai Hing) — Big Room $200/6hrs, Small Room $150/6hrs (12am-6am). That is $33/hr and $25/hr respectively.
  • Kaffein Studio (Kwai Tsing) — $210/6hrs overnight (~$35/hr). Ring light and mic included.
  • LIP Studio (San Po Kong) — $200/5hrs overnight or $90/2hrs ($40/hr).
  • Plus 852 Studio (Kwun Tong) — Room A $320/12hrs overnight, Room B $520/12hrs, Room C $720/12hrs. Full 12-hour blocks.
  • The Yard (Wong Tai Sin) — Owl hours 12am-6am. Fun Box $500, Chill Box $500, Black Box $800, White Box $800, Grand Yard $1,800 (flat rate for 6 hours).

Best Per-Hour Overnight Rates

Some studios charge per hour during overnight slots, giving you flexibility to book just what you need:

Practical Tips for Overnight Sessions

  • Transport — The MTR stops around 12:30-1:00am. Plan to arrive by midnight or arrange a taxi/ride-share. Night buses run on some routes.
  • Self-service entry — Most overnight studios use keypad/smart locks. Get the access code before the office closes.
  • Bring water and snacks — convenience stores nearby may be closed after midnight. Some studios like A.Studio have self-service snack stations.
  • Noise — industrial buildings are more lenient about nighttime noise than commercial ones. Studios in San Po Kong, Kwun Tong, and Lai Chi Kok are all in industrial areas.
  • Energy management — warm up properly after sitting on public transport. You may be colder than expected at 3am.
