Heels Dance Studios in Hong Kong
Heels dance has surged in popularity in Hong Kong, driven by styles like heels choreography, jazz funk in heels, and chair dance. But not every studio welcomes heels — stilettos can damage certain floor types, and some studios explicitly prohibit them. If you are a heels dancer, knowing which studios are heels-friendly saves you the awkwardness of showing up and being turned away.
Studios That Explicitly Welcome Heels
Plus 852 Studio in Kwun Tong actively offers heels classes alongside studio rental. Room B (900 sqft) is designed for heels sessions. Three rooms total with 24-hour access and prices from $100/hr. The studio states pricing is for practice and non-commercial shooting only.
Studio Diva in Lai Chi Kok is explicitly "nude and non-platform heels friendly." The two rooms (300 + 260 sqft) have wooden floors with soundproofing and decorative design. 24-hour access with rates from $125/hr off-peak. The 10% off for 2+ hours deal sweetens the package.
RAREWA Studio in Kwun Tong is another "heels and chair dance friendly" venue. The 170 sqft micro room with a 15-foot mirror charges $80/hr (or $70/hr for students). Book 2 consecutive hours and get 30 minutes free. 24-hour access.
InnaVibe Studio in San Po Kong lists heels as a suitable activity in its description. The 450 sqft room with sprung floor and 3.5m high ceiling gives you room to move at $120-150/hr. Training Time Studio in Kwai Hing also welcomes heels in its 190 sqft room at $60-65/hr.
Studios with Partial Heels Policies
CHOOM in Lai Chi Kok only accepts heels in the White Room (300 sqft, $135-170/hr), not the Grey Room. 3N4 Production in Mong Kok welcomes heels in its sound-insulated 650 sqft studio, with a 20% student discount bringing the rate to about $176/hr. LIP Studio (San Po Kong) and LIP Studio (Kwun Tong) both welcome heels across their micro rooms.
Studios Where Heels Are NOT Accepted
Some studios explicitly prohibit heels to protect their flooring. Solar Studio 24 in Lai Chi Kok states "heels dance not accepted." Studio Jungle in Tai Po does not accept heels in Room A. Always check before booking if the studio listing does not mention heels — a quick WhatsApp message can confirm.
Floor Tips for Heels Dancers
Even in heels-friendly studios, floor type matters. Wooden floors generally handle heels well but can get slippery — check if the floor has been treated with anti-slip coating. Sprung floors are usually fine for low heels but may feel bouncy. Avoid studios with exposed concrete or vinyl-over-concrete, as the hard surface amplifies impact on your joints. If you are doing spins or pivots in heels, look for rooms that mention slip-resistant or anti-slip flooring. Bring rubber heel tips as backup — they protect both your shoes and the floor.
Heels Dance Community
Hong Kong's heels dance scene is active on Instagram. Studios like Plus 852 Studio, Studio Diva, and RAREWA regularly share heels class content. Following their accounts is the best way to discover workshops, community jams, and meet fellow heels dancers. Many studios also offer one-off heels workshops — check their promotions and IG stories for upcoming events.
